My name is Edythe Brown, founder of Rich Gift Family Solutions. My specialization is in Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy. It is an honor and a privilege to work with individuals, couples, and families in their quest to love themselves and one another, restore balance, create new possibilities, and thrive in their lives and relationships.
I am a Professional member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). As an LMFT, I am licensed in the state of Michigan to practice Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition to my professional credentials, I also bring the practical experience of over 18 years of marriage and family life to the table. Therefore, I can truly empathize with both the joys and the struggles that my clients experience in their lives.
Approach
My approach is relational, which means I believe the issues individuals seek therapy for, occur within context of their relationships with others. I do not subscribe to there being a person who is “the issue.”
I practice cultural competence and tailor therapeutic models and techniques to best fit each client, couple, or family. The therapeutic models that I tend to use include Solution-Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.
Expertise
My work is customized to assist children, adolescents, adults, and elders. I can assist with issues such as bullying, separation anxiety, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, grief, relationship and marital problems, family conflict, and difficulty adjusting to life transitions.
